Overview (history, characteristics, attractions)
Shinagawa Aquarium is an urban aquarium located in Shinagawa Ward, Tokyo, which opened in 1991. Taking advantage of its location facing Tokyo Bay, it displays a wide variety of marine life, from familiar creatures to tropical fish from the south. Major attractions include the large indoor aquarium, dolphin and sea lion shows, penguin exhibits, and touch pools, making it popular with families, couples, and school field trips.
