Yebisu Garden Place (Shibuya Ward, Tokyo)
Overview (history, characteristics, attractions)
Yebisu Garden Place is a large-scale complex located in the Ebisu district of Tokyo. It was created by redeveloping the site of a former beer factory (Ebisu Beer Factory), and is a city block that combines commercial facilities, offices, cultural facilities, hotels, and restaurants. It is notable for its deep connection to Yebisu (Ebisu) Beer, which is the origin of the place name and brand name.
The sophisticated streetscape blends seamlessly with the greenery, and seasonal events are held in the outdoor plaza and glass atrium, making it a popular spot for both tourists and locals. The winter illuminations and the large chandelier in the central plaza are particularly well-known.
