Overview (history, characteristics, attractions)
Anamori Inari Shrine is a historic Inari shrine in Ota Ward, Tokyo. Located close to Haneda Airport, it is popular with worshippers who come to pray for safe travels, road safety, family safety, and business prosperity. Originally, it was long worshipped as a guardian deity watching over the seaside area around Haneda, but due to airport construction and urban development, it was relocated to its current location. One of its attractions is the opportunity to take photos with the view of the red torii gates and fox statues lined up, and the planes passing directly overhead in the background.
Highlights
- Red torii gates and approach to the shrine: Although it is small, the vermilion torii gates and stone structures are lined up in an orderly fashion, allowing you to worship in a calm atmosphere.
- Fox statues and offerings: Statues of foxes, messengers of the Inari god, are scattered throughout the grounds, and it's fun to observe their expressions and placement.
- Main shrine and prayers: Prayers for business prosperity and safe flights (air safety) may be available. Please check with the shrine office in advance.
- Amulets and talismans: Amulets and talismans for various purposes are given out, such as for traffic safety, travel safety, and household safety. As it is close to Haneda, many visitors seek protection for "flight safety."
- Photo spot: There is a spot where you can take pictures of planes taking off and landing at Haneda Airport over the temple grounds, making it popular with airplane fans and photography enthusiasts (please be careful not to disturb others when taking photos).
- Annual Events: Seasonal events such as New Year's visits to the shrine, Setsubun, and annual festivals are held, allowing you to experience the local atmosphere (it can get crowded during these events).
Access (nearest station, transportation, etc.)
- Train: About a 1-3 minute walk from Anamori Inari Station on the Keikyu Airport Line. The station and the shrine are very close to each other, making it easy to access.
- From Haneda Airport: Take the Keikyu Line or Monorail from the Haneda Airport Domestic Terminal or International Terminal, or take a taxi for approximately 5-15 minutes (depending on traffic).
- Bus/Car: There are local buses running in the area, but if you are coming by car, there is limited parking on the surrounding streets and within the temple grounds, so we recommend using public transportation.
- Please note: The area around the shrine is prone to airport-related road congestion, so please allow plenty of time for travel, especially on weekends and public holidays.
Estimated stay (estimated time required)

Things to be aware of (crowds, manners, seasonal precautions, etc.)

- Worship Manners: Please observe the general shrine etiquette, such as purifying your hands and mouth at the temizuya (purification fountain), bowing twice, clapping twice, and bowing once more. When taking photographs, please be considerate and not disturb other worshippers.
- Behavior within the shrine grounds: Please avoid climbing or touching the torii gates or stone statues. Please remember to show respect, especially towards offerings and sacred objects.
- Weather and clothing: The temple grounds are open and some areas are exposed to direct sunlight and wind. Please prepare for the heat in summer and the cold in winter.
- Safety and Restrictions Around the Airport: As the shrine is located close to airport facilities, there are restricted areas and photography restrictions. Please follow the signs and instructions of airport staff.
