Aqua World Oarai is a large aquarium located in Oarai, Ibaraki Prefecture, that takes advantage of its location facing the Pacific Ocean to offer attractive marine life exhibits and hands-on programs. It is particularly known for the large number and variety of shark exhibits it houses, and also serves as a marine education center for the region through its educational commentary and efforts in raising and breeding sharks. - Shark Exhibition Corner: This is one of the largest collections and exhibits of sharks in Japan, and there are detailed explanations of each species' ecology and comparisons. Special shark-related exhibits and explanatory events are also held.
- Large aquarium (large exhibit): You can observe the impressive waterscape of migratory fish and large fish swimming up close. Time your visit to the exhibits and feeding times for a truly immersive experience.

- Nearest station: Oarai Station (Kashima Rinkai Railway Oarai Kashima Line) is accessible by foot or bus. From the station, it is convenient to take a local bus or taxi.
- Directions by train (example): From Tokyo, take the JR Joban Line to Mito (or some direct trains), then take the Kashima Rinkai Railway from Mito to Oarai. Transfers and travel times vary depending on your departure point, so please check the timetable in advance.
- Directions by car: Take the Joban Expressway, the Kita-Kanto Expressway, or National Route 51. It takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours by car from the Tokyo metropolitan area, depending on traffic conditions. The museum has a parking lot for visitors (paid or free parking varies depending on the time of year and the facility).
- Access tips: Buses may be limited on weekends and holidays, so we recommend using a car or checking the schedule in advance.

- Crowds: The museum is extremely crowded on weekends, holidays, summer vacation, spring vacation, Golden Week, etc. If you want to avoid the crowds, consider visiting on a weekday or right after opening.
- Photography etiquette: Photography is permitted in many exhibits, but flash photography may be prohibited. Please follow the photography rules to avoid causing stress to the shows and animals.
- Respect for animals: Please handle animals gently, even in touch exhibits. Failure to follow instructions may result in injury or stress to the animals.
