In particular, the view of the Sakamoto Ryoma statue gazing out to sea is one of Kochi's most iconic sights, and a classic tourist photo. The surrounding area is home to a memorial hall and literary monument related to Ryoma, as well as sightseeing facilities such as the Katsurahama Aquarium, allowing you to enjoy history, culture, and nature all at once. Characterized by its rough coastline and pebbly beaches, the area is also attractive for its spring cherry blossoms, sunsets, and the scenery washed by the winter monsoon winds.
